Situated in Saint-Paul-Lez –Durance (Bouches-du-Rhône), CEA-Cadarache is one of the largest technological research and development centers in Europe.

The center’s activities are focused on several technological R&D platforms, dedicated for the most part to nuclear energy (fission and fusion) but also to new energy technologies, and to studies of plant/environment interaction and micro-biology.

The most important is a new nuclear facility called Jules Horowtiz Reactor.

It is an international irradiation reactor, a flexible and evolving tool for different generations of reactors.
